Who we are and what we do

At the Dubuque County Library District, we believe in the power of connection. We put that philosophy into action each and every day by providing resources and programming that inspire our patrons and unite our communities.

Dubuque County Library District was founded in 1950. We operate branches in Asbury, Epworth, Farley, Holy Cross, and Peosta, Iowa, and proudly serve members in these communities as well as those living in unincorporated Dubuque County.

We offer a vast collection of books, DVDs, magazines, newspapers, and audiobooks. The library also subscribes to a shared collection of downloadable e-books, e-audiobooks, and streaming video. By utilizing the library website, residents can also access several research databases.

Through a wide array of events and programming, the library provides unique experiences and gives our patrons opportunities to connect with others. Events are geared toward a variety of age groups, ranging from young children to teens and adults.
